A roof we completed last week was another high performance torch on felt roof to a rear extension flat lantern roof in Lichfield.
The property was being renovated by a local building company who had fitted the boarding and insulation ready to accept an EPDM roof membrane. Following our site visit it was discussed that a torch on felt roof would be better and the customer awarded us with the work.
First of all we boarded out the roof with a layer of 18mm OSB3 boarding and glued this to the already installed insulation giving the roof a firm decking. We then fitted a lead chute outlet to allow water to leave the roof and drop into a gutter hopper head.
We then applied a 2mm torch on underlay felt followed by a 4.5mm black mineral torch on Capsheet. All edging details were also finished in the same material and we capped over the cavity to stop any water ingress. The builder is going to get coping stones on the top to finish the job off.
