Not long ago we completed this civil works job at Foseco in Fazeley. The work was to create 3 concrete pads for the forklifts when unloading lorries
Firstly we saw cut the existing tarmac area to create a nice rectangular pad with a floor saw. We then broke up the existing tarmac floor with a machine mounter breaker before removing it and storing to the side ready for disposal. Once the tarmac was removed, we dug out to a depth of 400mm.
We then put 200mm of Type 1 Roadstone into the hole and compressed to create a nice firm base. A layer of steel reinforcement mesh was then installed to give the new concrete some strength. We also installed a 10mm expansion joint around the edges. 200mm of concrete was then poured into the dug out areas and tampered level. This created 3 flat concrete pads.
The remainder of the Roadstone was used to fill in various pot holes and l level off an existing area.
All of the waste was collected and disposed of by a waste contractor with a grab wagon.
The customer was happy with the work and has left a nice 5 Star Google review.
