EPDM Roof replacement

Little roof we did recently in Baddesley Ensor just outside Tamworth. The customer called us to report that they had a leak to a flat roof. When we got there it was observed that the roof had been recently done within a couple of years and had Firestone EPDM roof covering. Although this membrane is 1.2mm thick and has a warranty of 10 years the customer was not happy with it and wanted it replaced to stop the water ingress. We stripped off the membrane and replaced it with a 2mm torch on underlay with a 4.5mm polyester torch on mineral cap sheet. All edging details were finished in the same material. This material is a lot more hard wearing than the EPDM membrane and has a 15 year manufacturers warranty. Also the training course to fit EPDM is a 4 hour course opposed to our roofing operatives that have completed a 2 year NVQ.
